PlayStationPlus – 1st Birthday

A year ago, Sony started with the PlayStationPlus program. Now Sony celebrates the 1st birthday of PlayStationPlus with some special offers and some free months, if you order the Plus-Program for 3 months or 1 year in advance.

The offer for the birthday means, you have the following benefits.

Order 1 year in advance and get 3 months free
Order 3 months in advance and get 1 month free

Sony says, the PlayStationPlus membership offered the following benefits in the last year.

Over 100 Exclusives and Early Access items
$800+ in Savings

I suppose, if there is the right time to start with PlayStationPlus, it is now. Best feature in my opinion is the Online-Storage with 150MB for your Save-Games in the cloud.

PlayStation 3 – Update Checker

I tried to embed an update-checker with an iframe. This is not supported on the WordPress.com platform for security reasons. So I can only link to the little tool, I wrote in PHP.

It will check on the servers of Sony, if there exists a new version of the firmware for the PlayStation 3 every time it’s loaded. It offers a link to the new firmware, but shows only the version number of the old firmware.

Feel free to use it, as often as you like and share it with your friends on your list in the PlayStationNetwork. For those, who don’t own the PSN-Plus membership it’s nifty tool to find out, if there is a new release over the day. So you won’t be surprised in the evening, while firing up your PS3.
